The Zarem/Golde ORT Technical Institute is a Chicago training school committed to providing an educational environment that enhances our students’ ability to fulfill their career goals. We work at being “A Welcoming Community of Practical Learning” and are sensitive to the needs of adult learners.

By encouraging the development of the total person, we provide direction for students who seek to improve their lives through learning new technical and English language skills. ORT’s multi-lingual staff and faculty who are professionals in their field of expertise are committed to preparing students for entry-level job opportunities through medical training; Medical Office Assistant, Medical Assistant and Pharmacy Technician, business training; (Associates Degree in Accounting and Computerized Accounting Certificate and technology training; Computer Graphics and Desktop Publishing , Computer Support and Networking Technology and Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD).

Our Chicago training school is part of a 130 year-old, worldwide, highly regarded network of more than 800 non-profit vocational training schools. We are sensitive to the needs of adult learners and are supportive to our students. ORT Technical Institute is conveniently located by Chicago’s North Side in Skokie, Illinois. ORT is fully accredited by ACCET, a national standards organization for post-secondary schools, is approved by the Illinois State Board of Education, the Veterans Administration, the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) and the Department of Homeland Security to enroll non-immigrant alien students.

  • To provide short-term, intensive programs (most of ORT’s Technical Programs can be completed in less than a year.)

  • To teach English language skills necessary for employment and adjustment to life in a new country and culture through our comprehensive ESL (English as a Second Language) programs.
  • To offer individualized student services and support.
